‘Abscess’ wins 3 awards at Chilean film festival

Iranian drama ‘Abscess’ receives 3 awards at 1st South Film & Arts Academy Festival in Chile.

Iranian social drama ‘Abscess’ has grabbed three awards at the first edition of South Film & Arts Academy Festival (SFAAF) in Santiago, Chile.

The event presented awards for Best Experimental Feature and Best Original Score in a Feature Film to the Iranian drama.

The flick actress, Sousan Azizollahi, received a festival’s Honorable Mention for Lead Actress in a Feature Film.

Directed by Armin Tahmasebi and Ali Bateni, ‘Abscess’ is about a young couple whose lives are deeply affected by addiction and drug abuse. Each new day in their troubled life gets darker until they decide to find a way out of their predicament.

The ‘Abscess’ cast includes Azizollahi, Ali Ardalan, Asef Rasouli, Tina Mousavi, Roya Qanbari, Raouf Rezai, Rasoul Mohammadi, Sepanta Sokouti, Amin Mohseni, Alireza Ahmadi, Saeed Jafari, Majid Ahmadi and Arman Tahmasebi.

Another Iranian short film ‘One Day Later’ directed by Ehsan Hemmati has also won 4 awards at this edition of the Chilean event.

The SFAAF is a festival that includes monthly presentations and an annual ceremony as well as an online streaming site. It is a festival of the arts that includes cinema, music video, theater, music and photography.

The 1st edition of SFAAF was held on November 15-17, 2017, in Santiago, Chile.
